Melinda is named after my beautiful friend Mel, who through the ups and downs of health issues this year, always has a smile. A truly beautiful soul, with that smile that brightens up anywhere she goes. To be able to stay so positive and strong is truly an inspiration to me. Her courage is beyond amazing. Well on the way to spending a long and happy life with her beloved Chris by her side, Mel continues to fight against the disease that invaded her body, kicking it to the kerb, and keeping it there, with every treatment of chemo.
Here is Mel with her very own set of the pouches. I sent her a set as a gift. Made from her favourite yellow roses with green lining.
There is a back story to the yellow roses.
In brief Mel’s Grandmother Nancy, (seriously, what a coincidence) carried yellow roses on her wedding day, as did Mel, when she married the wonderful Chris, a few years ago.
When I originally asked Mel if she would mind me naming the collection after her, I asked her favourite flower and colour. Hence, the set that I made especially for her just had to have her favourites. They arrived yesterday and I think that it couldn’t have been better timing. Mel had chemo yesterday and even though I’m sure she was tired, still wrote a beautiful post which she shared on her Facebook page as well as mine.
I’m so pleased that Mel likes her gift, and took these lovely pics for me.
As a reminder to all, if you have any symptoms that cause you concern, go to your doctor, get it checked out. Don’t wait, your family and friends need you.
